Social-Emotional Learning Live Virtual Workshop:

Essential Lessons for Student Success

Full-Day Workshop:

Monday, June 21, 2027

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM PT

7.5 Professional Development Hours

Teaching students how to be good at learning and at life.

If we're going to have high academic expectations of our students, then we must equip them with strategies to navigate feelings like stress, conflict, and failure.

It’s extremely difficult to teach rigorous instruction and redirect challenging student behaviors at the same time. But imagine how challenging it is for our students to focus on their learning without the tools they need to self-regulate their own emotions and behaviors?

Studies show that happiness and well-being are closely correlated with productivity and performance. This means that as educators, it is our responsibility to invest in both our students’ academic and personal development.

Our SEL training and curriculum puts research in a learning format that kids understand and that's easy to teach.

This Strobel Education workshop focuses on helping educators integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into everyday instruction in a way that supports both student well-being and academic success. Research shows that when students develop skills like emotional regulation, relationship-building, and responsible decision-making, they are better equipped to engage and learn at higher levels.

Participants will explore practical strategies to teach SEL skills, strengthen classroom relationships, and create a more supportive learning environment. The session emphasizes real-world application, helping educators embed SEL into their existing curriculum without adding overwhelm.

Educators will leave with clear, actionable approaches to build emotionally supportive classrooms where students can manage their emotions, strengthen relationships, and succeed both academically and socially.

Participants will:

  • Understand how social-emotional well-being influences student learning, behavior, and academic outcomes
  • Identify essential SEL skills such as emotional regulation, relationship-building, and responsible decision-making
  • Implement strategies that help students manage emotions and navigate challenges effectively
  • Strengthen classroom relationships to improve engagement and overall climate
  • Integrate SEL practices into daily instruction in a practical and manageable way
  • Support student resilience, empathy, and collaboration
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes both emotional well-being and academic success
  • Develop a plan to consistently apply SEL strategies within their classroom or school

It's time to cultivate classroom environments where students...

Feel equipped to advocate for their emotional needs.

Sometimes, student behavior can stem from a sense of confusion and frustration about what they’re feeling. Teaching students how to identify what may be causing stress, fear, or discouragement can help them take steps to feel calm and understand what they need to feel better.

Develop skills to self-regulate their emotions and behaviors.

Once students understand their emotions, we can direct them toward actions they can initiate to get their brains back to positive thought patterns – improving their overall well-being and academic performance.

Actively reflect on the thoughts and actions they are reinforcing.

Provide students with strategies to notice their thought patterns and then reframe their thinking so that they can get their minds back to positive and take action to improve their situation.

Intentionally build relationships with their peers.

Learn how to model conversation and collaboration behaviors that can improve student productivity, collective teamwork, and overall student learning.
