Why Trauma-Informed Practices - Level 2?

At least one in four youth experiences trauma severe enough to negatively affect their school success.  We must build a foundation for Trauma-Informed Practices within our school culture.

Change the Brain — Change the Behavior

In the Trauma Level 1 training, we dove deep into brain research and understood how trauma affects the brain, which then affects behaviors.  Then, we equipped you with some essential tools to help you get started. But now, we want to NEW specific brain-based intervention strategies to give you the tools to lessen the negative impact of trauma in the brain and restore your classroom and school.

When trauma-informed practices become a foundational piece of your school culture, we know that stress is reduced, teaching time is increased, and school climate soars, along with student success.  We explain how to create a culture of safety where everyone feels seen, valued, supported, and capable of learning.

This training is about going one step further to ensure the culture of your school is changed with Trauma-Informed Practices, setting your entire school up for success. Hence, students and adults learn life-long SEL skills that help with empathy, making, self-regulation, increased well-being, and academic and social success.
