PSA: Stop Normalizing Burnout

As educators, you serve in one of the most stress-filled, heavy-hearted professions out there.

I see so many teachers who are suffering from anxiety, stress, guilt, and feelings of defeat.

Years ago, my own family physician said, “Kim, the #1 reason I see a patient is for the common cold. The #2 reason is to treat anxiety, and the #1 client group who come for this help…are teachers.”

While I know the teaching profession is incredibly hard based on my own experiences in and out of the classroom, I also know it’s time to truly put teachers first, so they stay in their jobs and feel good in their jobs. Teachers deserve to reclaim our lives outside of education.

We hear all the time, “Kids matter. Show up and be your best for kids.” But I say it’s high time teachers come first. Then, and only then, will they be able to show up and be great for their students.

And that’s exactly why I created The Happy Academy because I know teachers have poured their hearts out to serve their students and school, but it’s come at a cost. I believe there are tools we can learn that give teachers their lives back again, but we need a roadmap to follow.

I’m not going to bore you with all the details of the program. But I really want you to know this: I’ve been where you are, and I’m here to support you.

P.S. The doors to Happy Academy close at the end of the month. I’d love to answer whatever questions you have to see if it’s the right fit for you, so shoot me an email if you’re feeling the pull.
