Hey,
How do you do under a major time-crunch? I’m under a deadline right now, which calls for 4:35 a.m. start times.
The project is one that I didn’t anticipate, and when the chaos hit, my gut reaction was resistance.
My mind’s endless chatter went to….
- “I don’t have time for this.”
- “I can’t make it happen.”
- “How will we pull this off?”
- “I had planned to take some downtime and read Christmas romance novels!” 😩
I questioned whether I could actually pull this off and spent a week complaining to Scott about it.
…then it hit me 👇🏼
That realization was the turning point for me. I decided to release the resistance and pivot the story I was telling myself.
I embraced my warrior-mode and said, “I am exactly the person who can and will do this.”
It’s easy to sit in the resistance. It’s easy to complain. But it takes effort to change the story.
One of my favorite TV characters is Mrs. Maisel. In one episode, she got up on stage and said this:
“I want a big life. I want to experience everything. I want to break every single rule there is. They say ambition is an unattractive trait in a woman. Maybe? But you know what’s really unattractive?
Waiting around for something to happen. Staring out a window, thinking the life you should be living is out there somewhere, but not being willing to open the door and go get it even if someone tells you, you can’t. Being a coward is only cute in The Wizard of Oz.”
What I’m trying to do seems impossible. But when I take it in bite-sized chunks, it feels more possible because I CHOOSE to believe in myself.
I think it’s high time you start believing in yourself, because your belief in YOU is stronger than any force of nature, friend.
The world needs what you have to offer. You have a purpose and a path to follow. Step right into that bigness of yours.
I need you. You need you. The world needs you and your bigness.
